Homemade Seasoned Salt Part II

16 Jan 2014
My family and friends had been asking for this recipe. I believe that salt and pepper is not enough. Salt and a variety of spices make your recipe exciting and delicious!

Description

… And I say part 2 because this is the second time I made seasoned salt, and it’s part 2 because it has different ingredients based on the availability of spices in the market.

This salt is good for everything. Even uncured bacon slices seasoned with this salt mix will make it taste like cured. We have a picky daughter, and if she eats what we cook, it’s SUCCESS. And this bacon is a hit to her. What I love about this seasoned salt is that our bacon is now nitrite-free and fresh!

Ingredients

4 T
sea salt
2 T
Paprika, ground (Any kind. I used Spanish Paprika)
2 T
Turmeric, ground
1 T
bay leaf, finely ground (you can use your food processor to prepare this)
1 T
Tarragon flakes
1 T
Coriander seeds, ground
1 T
Celery powder
1 T
cracked bell pepper (can be ready to buy from department stores)
3 T
dried onion flakes
2 T
muscovado sugar (a pure form of brown sugar)

Instructions

Mix all the ingredients and store in air-tight container. Use as desired.

You may also opt to grind this spice mix using your food processor for finer texture, which I best recommend for spicing up bacon slices.

Here's a tease to my take on Homemade Bacon-Lettuce-Tomato Sandwich:

Enjoy!
