Description

Homemade blueberry syrup… because you do not want those extra nasty ingredients in your body such as the thought of HFCS, plus it simply tastes better than those in can.

Ingredients

1 1⁄2 c
fresh or frozen blue berry
1 c
apple juice
1⁄2 c
white sugar (or moscuvado sugar)

juice of 1 lemon
2 t
tap water
1 T
corn starch (more if you want it thicker)
1 1⁄2 t
almond extract

Instructions

Mix together all the first four ingredients in a saucepan.  Heat over low-medium heat, constantly stirring until sugar is melted.  Let simmer for 5 more minutes.

Meanwhile, mix together tap water and cornstarch to incorporate well.  Pour gradually over the simmering sauce while constantly stirring.  Continue stirring until mixture thickens.  Do not over-cook. Remove from heat and stir in almond extract.

Popular to serve over cheesecake.  Enjoy!
