Butter and Cream Cheese Frosting

Practice means perfect. And in our kitchen, this is one of them. This is every cupcake’s perfect frosting!

Buttery, creamy and delicious you’d want a dollop all by itself.


1 c
butter (salted/unsalted - doesn’t matter), softened
1 c
cream cheese, softened
1 t
vanilla extract (optional)
2 lb
confectioner’s sugar


Using an electric mixer or even a food processor, cream all ingredients together.  When fluffy and firm but not solid, this frosting should be ready to go.
If you want a thinner frosting, just reduce the amount of confectioner’s sugar. Hence, add gradually until you reached your desired consistency.
