Description
Basil pesto is great for pastas, salads, and even sandwiches. Perhaps its taste can make you more adventurous with designing a delicious meal for you and your family.
Ingredients
2 c
packed fresh sweet basil leaves 6
garlic cloves, peeled and smashed 2 T
Kalamansi or lemon juice 1⁄4 c
of any of the following nuts: pine, almond or cashew 1 1⁄2 c
virgin olive oil 1⁄2 c
grated parmesan cheeseInstructions
Add the first 5 ingredients in the blender and blend until most is finely chopped.
Transfer to a serving bowl and mix in parmesan cheese. Serve with your favorite pasta, sandwich, however you feel like it. Don’t worry, it’s delicious no matter what!
To store, place in an airtight glass container and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
I don’t recommend freezing pesto, as this does not really taste as good when thawed. Sorry.
